Qingshou Lai, co-founder and executive director.
Born in 1978 in a poor rural family in Sichuan province in southwest China, Qingshou had to quit from school and looked for jobs to support the family after his mother died when he was a teenager. He went to Guangdong province in Southern China far away from home and worked on a construction site and later in a factory. Qingshou longed for knowledge and studied by himself after a day's hard work, and was soon promoted to be a salesman due to his diligence. He went back to his hometown in 2001 and started sapling grafting after learning the techniques. He developed his management skills during years of experience.
Qingshou has strong sympathy for children in poverty as a result of his own hardship during childhood. He is determined to help struggling families out of poverty using his knowledge and experience in growing fruit trees.
